“When I received the The North Shore Mother Visiting Partnership postcard in the mail I immediately contacted [the nurse]. I didn’t know that a visiting nurse was exactly what I needed until that postcard came in the mail. [The nurse] brought vaccines for my husband, a multitude of resources and samples to make new motherhood easier, but it was her expertise and company that proved most helpful. [The nurse] started our visit by letting me share my birth story and let her know how I and the baby were doing. A brand new mother, I had a lot of anxiety around keeping my baby safe especially during flu season and she was kind and understanding and helped validate my concerns. She provided valuable information about baby sleep practices, groups and resources in my community for new moms, and was kind and easy to talk to. I’ve been recommending this program to all of my pregnant friends because every new mother needs the kind of postpartum support that The North Shore Mother Visiting Partnership provides.”
“The nurse was so sweet and reassuring. I was really impressed with the nurse’s knowledge and concern for mom’s health as well as baby’s.”
“The nurse was so kind and easy to talk to, even about difficult topics.”
“The North Shore Mother Visiting program home visit was extremely helpful for me and my baby. I absolutely appreciated the free goodies and information. But most of all, [the] nurse shared very important information about night time nursing of my baby. Previously, I received conflicting information from other sources that encouraged not to feed the baby while trying to sleep train him. Had I done that, it would have led to premature weaning and a whole a lot of complications and stress for me and my baby. Thanks for [the nurse] and the information she provided, I avoided making that big mistake. Discussing other aspects of being a new mom with her was very helpful, too. It felt great to get so much support and understanding from her. I certainly hope other moms will enjoy these kinds of visits. I got a lot out of it.”
“[The nurse’s] advice was so helpful and made me feel more confident as a mom. Having the new calming method has already come in handy and I feel better after talking through my questions with [the nurse]. This is such a wonderful program and [the nurse] did an outstanding job.”
